




SONG PLAYING: "I HATE MUSIC," HILLBILLY HELLCATS Current Featured Artist Long before the psychobilly gained it's current recognition, bands like Gas Huffer were combining punk and rockabilly sounds. They didn't need obsessions with B-movie horror to make it work, either. Blending the reverb-riddled guitars of classic '50s rockabilly with a presence of a punk band, the Seattle act came up parallel with the grunge revolution. 1994's One Inch Masters, from which "Crooked Bird" was pulled, caught the band at its best, as it slowed down some of the mayhem of the act's early material as the foursome concentrated more on songwriting than energy. |
